USS San Diego to Host ESPN College GameDay
As a tribute to service members this Veterans Day weekend, ESPN’s College GameDay will be reporting live from the flight deck of USS San Diego (LPD 22), homeported at Naval Base San Diego. This will mark the network’s fourth annual America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans initiative that honors active duty military and veterans across its U.S. media platforms.
College GameDay will air live on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 6 a.m. PST on ESPNU, and from 10 a.m. to noon on ESPN with host Chris Fowler, analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack, and hosts/reporters Samantha Steele and Tom Rinaldi. Included in the early-morning telecast will be a feature with Clemson wide receiver Daniel Rodriguez, a decorated Army veteran.
Featured college football games will include:
West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State
Oregon vs. Cal
Northwestern vs. Michigan
Oregon State vs. Stanford
Mississippi State vs. Louisiana State
Service members and their families will make up the live audience, including the ship’s nearly 400 person crew.
